Presenter: Denise Waters
In this session, we’ll explore how artificial intelligence can reshape the way we design and deliver online learning for future educators. I’ll share my process for embedding AI into the development of an online elementary education degree course, where course readings and assignments are transformed into interactive, video-based learning experiences. Using tools like notebook.lm, I generate video scripts, summaries, and prompts that help students engage more deeply with course concepts.
We’ll also look at how AI can assist instructors in designing customized learning tools—from auto-generated quizzes and reflection questions to video learning companions—making instruction more adaptive and responsive. The session will highlight both the creative and practical sides of using AI: how it saves time in course design, supports differentiated instruction, and encourages new forms of student engagement. Participants will leave with ideas and strategies for integrating AI to enhance their own courses, without losing the human touch essential to teaching and learning.
