AI as an Excreter vs. AI as a Collaborator

Most teacher-facing AI tools act like lesson “excreters”: they take in standards and spit out generic plans. While these tools save time, they sacrifice quality, producing scripts rather than thoughtful learning experiences. I will contrast that transactional use of AI with a more human approach by using a custom GPT that shares my teaching philosophy and co-constructs Ambitious Science Teaching learning cycles. Instead of feeding machines for output, collaborate with AI as a thinking partner that deepens, rather than replaces, teacher expertise.
