Hello!! I am Ahmad Wehbe, I am 18 years old , from a village called Harouf in Nabatieh governorate, south Lebanon. I am a USP VII cycle 3 student at the American University of Beirut. During Fall 2018 I studied at Reynolds as a UPP student to improve my English language and be prepared for my major computer science.

During Fall 2018 I studied at Reynolds as a UPP student to improve my English language and be prepared for my major computer science.
Moving to live and study at AUB had an impact that exceeded my expectations. I thought that AUB is the best because of the exceptional academic education here. I was right, but when I got here I knew that it is much more than that. I started discovering that AUB prepares you to the real life and introduces you to the land of opportunities. It is the right place for ambitious people like me to start their adventure and achieve their dreams.

I am a person who believes in hard work. I believe that 20% of our lives is what happens to us and 80% percent is how we react to it. I can decide every morning I wake up what do I want to do with my time; whether I want to use it in a useful way or waste it on useless things. Also, I believe in flexibility (open mind) because the world is a changing place and we can’t always be the same we have to adapt. I have heard a quote long time ago that says “ the old keys won’t open the new doors”.

Although I like to be successful in my life and achieve my dreams, but there is a something that I feel is more important to me. Every day I watch the news, walk in a poor street, read an article about people suffering in this world I feel that my life will be worth nothing if I didn’t make someone else’s life better. I may not have the abilities to end wars and eliminate poverty. However, I can at least make an orphan smile, feed a poor man, give clothes to homeless people, … we have to believe in the power of the individual.
Although I like to be successful in my life and achieve my dreams, but there is a something that I feel is more important to me. We are problem solvers, innovators, and creators and programming is just a tool we use. In the modern era computer science is changing everything from energy, fashion, medicine, …

AUB is beautiful as a campus and as a community. Nobody can ignore the beauty of the trees and the natural views inside AUB. Also, everybody can enjoy his hobbies and interest here. We have the swimming pool, gym, soccer field, … . In addition, most of the people I meet on campus are polite and lighthearted.
