The first and most important lesson I learned in this course is to be an active reader and not only a recipient of information. Where I learned that I should always read critically to get the most out of any piece of information I read. That is because Effective learning is not reading articles and memorizing them, but reacting to them. For example, we can write the questions that crossed our mind while we were reading, add our opinions and thoughts of the writer’s ideas, and understand the content better.

During this course I had some challenges to overcome. When I first heard of module and the blended course I was confused and lost. It was not a long time until we had the first critical reading session and the instructor explained everything to us. Module's created to make our lives easier and help us learn more effectively. Thus, the blended course is when we work at home on assignments the instructor ask us to do, then come to class and discuss them.

Discussions in classroom and outside classroom are one of the effective ways of modern education. The relation between the instructor and the students must be that of interaction. Discussion forums had a high value in my opinion since we learned to give sincere and critical comments to others and accept others critiques to help us improve.

Besides, Canva was a new experience for me I felt proud of my work when I created something. We learned some design tips for creating a professional info-graphic. I designed an info-graphic about the Millennium Development Goals specifically goal 3 which is “ promote gender equality and empower women”.

In addition, One of the most interesting activities we have done is a short sketch about propaganda techniques. My friends and I had to create a sketch where I was playing the role of the brother who has to convince his elder brother to borrow the car from him. My friend used propaganda techniques to help me convince my brother.

Furthermore, I learned important techniques to help me understand the texts better. For example, in every text there are vocabulary words who's meaning I don’t know, so in the first lesson “ vocabulary in context” I learned how to imply the meaning from the context. In addition, knowing the main idea explicitly or implicitly helped me understand the text better by knowing what’s the important idea the writer is focusing on.
Furthermore, I learned important techniques to help me understand the texts better. There is one text in the whole semester that left me speechless which is “ Early Autumn”. It is like a short scene where two people who used to love each other, who met again years later, and talked for a short period of time. In the past, the women is the one who left the man to go marry someone else. When she saw him after all this long time, she seemed to have a miserable life while he seemed to have a good life.
