After serving as a teacher, program director, and a counselor, Amon-Ra was promoted to his first administrative position was "School Improvement Coordinator" The primary responsibility of this administrative role was to process all of the building discipline, to educate the staff on the new mandates concerning PBIS practices in the classroom , and to evaluate teachers. Some of my secondary roles proved to be educational as well.
After 2 years, Amon-Ra was promoted to assistant principal at the High School level. In this position he and his team established a rule of law by applying the conduct in a consistent and reliable manner, and by adding mediation as a consequences for conflict driven behaviors.
He held this job for two years and then joined a K-5 start up charter school for 18 months as a Behavior Intervention Specialist / Head of School during the height of the COVID-19 lock-downs. This school served one of the South Linden community in Columbus Ohio. This job gave him the ability to craft an Equity Based MTSS system framed around trauma informed best practices.
His next administrative appointment came when a 4-8 second year start up was in need of an Executive Director and a Director of Academics and Curriculum. This experience gave him a deeper knowledge of the executive functions of school operations.
