Customer service is the act of taking care of the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during, and after the customer's requirements are met (McKinney). In this setting, customer service is being able to provide quality and timely information to students who seek help or clarification regarding their admission status, credit transfer etc.
Give quality customer service: The customer service team will make sure that all of the needs of the student are being met.
Meeting the needs of students and families: The customer service team will provide relevant information to answer the questions students or family members may have.
Timeliness: The customer service team will assist students in a timely manner in all aspects (answering the phone/email, putting people on hold, relaying students’ messages to proper person etc.)
Help students matriculate: Inform students about their application status so that they are able to complete their application successfully and eventually matriculate to the university.
Be a resource to students: The customer service team will be able to direct students to other resources the students may need (i.e. enrollment services, housing, etc.)
