Currently I am working on an Elizabethan Coif pattern designed by Laura Mellen (Attack Laurel ) and the embroidery is in silk. It took awhile to learn the difference of working in silk and cotton embroidery thread.

9/15/24- Do not laugh. I cut out the colored thread and will return to Black and White thread.

8/16/22 - Gold Work is considered Embroidery with a unique set of tools. I have been fortunate to find some incredible research work and dating of Gold Work techniques. Even though I love standard Embroidery, Goldwork actually feels right as a companion to Bead Embroidery. So, I believe I will start a new page with all of the research I have found and will continue to find.
