Professional Teaching Dispositions:  Exhibit dispositions required for effective teaching and professional practice (15 points)

Include a self-evaluation and reflection of your competency in the Professional Dispositions 
        1. What two dispositional areas do you feel very comfortable with and why?

Tact and judgement, and collegiality and responsiveness are the two areas I feel comfortable with.  I feel comfortable with tact and judgement because the first line about being sensitive to others' feelings while articulating my own really speaks to me. I'm a kind and very empathetic human, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I am always considering others when I talk. I also like to say I have an open mind and I'm professional when it comes to relations with students. 

I feel comfortable with collegiality and responsiveness because I feel like I work well in a group/team to achieve common goals. I believe in the concept of a collective genius. I am always open to constructive criticism. If I wasn't getting any, I don't think I would be growing. I do not know much about the teaching world, and I don't always know what to do or what I should've done, so getting feedback is very important to me.

 
        2. What is one dispositional area you want to focus on during your student teaching semester?

I think I want to focus on taking initiative and completing responsibilities without prompting. I feel like being in someone else's classroom but having to act like the main teacher is going to throw me off, and  I  won't think of myself as the main teacher, and maybe we aren't supposed to anyway.

        3. Any other thoughts about Professional Dispositions related to you being a successful educator?

I feel like I can do and be all of these, but I'm not sure I have the confidence to really believe I can do all of this right if that makes sense.
