This photo shows etch damage on the limestone tiles

A few of the Limestone tiles in Coleorton had large, noticeable etch marks.

One etch mark was by the cooker, which suggests that it was likely caused by an accidental spillage.

Another etch mark was made by green oak planks.

Some green oak planks had been left by my customer on the flooring.

Oak has high levels of Quertannic acid called Tannin.

The acidic moisture soaked into the sealer. and then etched into the surface of the limestone tile.

The etch marks were removed by using a hand grinder and graded silicon carbide pads.

Finally, I finished the repairs by polishing the tiles to match the surrounding tiles.
