Soldier and Family Readiness Group Center
Available Training
SFRG Commander’s Training (offered in person or virtually by request only)
The commander’s training is a required course for company commanders. The objectives of the training include defining Soldier and Family Readiness, the role of the command team, and informing commanders of the resources and tools available at Fort Bragg.
Command Family Readiness Representative Training (CFRR) (Required in Person)
1st Wednesday of the month, 0900-1200, at the SFRG Center
This training is required for all current and incoming CFRRs. Training includes topics on understanding your role with the SFRG and the Command. In addition, as the CFRR, you are responsible for managing the volunteers within your SFRG. You will be required to take Organization Point of Contact (OPOC) training which is part of your CFRR duties. As an OPOC, you will be an Administrator in the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS), responsible for accepting volunteer applications, certifying volunteer hours, etc.
SFRG Informal Funds Custodian/Alternate
2nd Thursday of the month 0900-1100 (virtual via MS Teams)
This training is required for all current and incoming SFRG Informal Funds Custodians/Alternates. Training provides an overview of the Army regulations governing management of SFRG informal funds and fundraising.
SFRG Coordinator (offered in person or virtually by request only)
This training is in accordance with (IAW) FORSCOM OPORD October 2020 and is designed to prepare the coordinator to assist the unit commander with mission essential activities, to include how to work with command team to plan and execute SFRG events and the general operation of the SFRG.
SFRG Key Contact
4th Thursday of the month, 0900-1100 (virtual via MS Teams)
Training will include how to organize and maintain a communication link between the Soldier and Family Readiness Group and new Family members of the unit. Guidelines on confidentiality, telephone, e-mail and text messaging will also be discussed. This is suggested training for SFRG Coordinators and anyone wanting to learn more about the SFRG Communication and Outreach structure.
Care Team Training
3rd Thursday of the Month, 0900-1100 (virtual via MS Teams)
This training is critical prior to establishing a Care Team. The Care Team fills the gap between the notification team and the arrival of Family support.

82nd Airborne Division Unit Service Coordinators
Each Brigade is assigned to a Unit Service Coordinator. A Unit Service Coordinator (USC) is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mobilization, deployment, and support stability operations. This role involves providing training and resources to commanders, Soldiers, and Families to navigate the challenges of mobilization and deployment. The coordinator also assists in maintaining effective Soldier Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs) and provides administrative and logistical support to commanders and rear detachment commanders.
