Military Child Care (click link to apply or get more info) connects you to the full range of military child care options available to your family, including:
Child Development Centers (CDCs)
On-post child care centers that offer full-day and hourly care for children, in nationally accredited environments
FCC provides quality home based care for children 4 weeks to 12 years old in the private home of a certified family childcare provider living in government-owned or leased housing. Family childcare is typically available weekdays and with additional care provided during evenings, weekends and flexible hourly care for shift work.
24/7 Centers
Due to a high demand, Fort Bragg has about 400 families on the waitlist at any given time. That being said, if you know when your family will be requiring childcare, create an account on MCC and submit a Request for Care (RFC) as soon as possible.
To help make childcare more affordable, all military-connected childcare programs use a sliding fee scale based on your Total Family Income. To learn more about how child care fees are determined, visit the “Parent Fees for Military Child Care” section at the bottom of the linked Military Child Care page.
When you submit a Request for Care (RFC) on MilitaryChildCare.com, your place on the waitlist is based on a combination of two key factors:
Your DoD-assigned priority
Order of high to low priority status: single parent active-duty, dual active-duty households, active-duty members with a full-time working spouse, active-duty members with a part-time working spouse.
The date you submit your Request for Care.
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN)
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (click link for more info) is a fee assistance program that keeps affordable child care in reach for eligible families. It’s intended for families who cannot access military-operated care due to distance or waitlists.
With fee assistance, a portion of your child care cost is paid to reduce the cost of using community-based care to what you would pay if your child(ren) attended military-operated childcare with a provider cap of $1800. The goal is to make it easier for you to afford quality child care from local community providers when you cannot access military care.
MilitaryChildCare.com allows you to search the full range of military child care options. Search for care, and if it’s available, submit a request for MCCYN for each of your children.
There is an extensive list of MCCYN participating providers around Fort Bragg.
Child Care in Your Home (CCYH)
Child Care in Your Home (CCYH) (click link for more info) is a DoD fee assistance pilot program that helps military families with the cost of full-time child care (30–60 hours per week) in their own homes. Children are eligible from 6 weeks old until they enter Kindergarten. A school-age child may be enrolled if an eligible sibling is enrolled for full-time care. Fee assistance will end when the child turns 13.
This program was designed to support families with nontraditional work hours, such as evenings, weekends, or rotating schedules. This program has limited capacity, and they cannot guarantee that every family will receive an offer.
You can apply for CCYH if you are:
Single/dual active duty or Guard/Reserve on active duty OR
Active duty or Guard/Reserve on active duty with a spouse who
works full time, OR
is enrolled full time in a postsecondary educational institution, OR
works part time while enrolled part time in a postsecondary educational institution.
You must find your own child care provider who is eligible, has completed all required training, and passes background checks.
