My person is John Adams. He was alive from 1735-1826. He helped in the revolutionary war and was the 1st vice president and the 2nd president of the US. John Adams is important because he was one of the amazing founding fathers and did a lot for our country. He was a big part in the fight for freedom, Britain was very unfair with taxes and more, so John and a group of men decided to fight for their rights. I hope you find interest in his outstanding life and his dedication to America.

This section will be about the early life of John Adams. It will include when and where he was born, his family, his family background, what he studied and where he went for schooling, his interests, and fun facts. John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, in Braintree, Massachusetts. John Adams had 2 brothers, Peter and Elihu. He was named after his father John Adams but there is little known about John’s mother known for a fiery temper. She was remarried, John did not like his stepdad, and they did not get along well. John Adams was Samuell Adams 2nd cousin. His mother’s name was Susanna. John was born into a comfortable family, but they were not wealthy. He grew up in a tidy small world. His father was a deacon and farmer. His father was hoping that he would be a clergyman. This is someone in the priest hood. He went to Harvard in Cambridge MA, to become a lawyer. He helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris. He was very smart in the legal field, and he graduated at age 20. He was a bookworm and an earthworm because he was not afraid to get his hands dirty. He did not like slaves to work on his farm. He ran a farm with his own hands.

Some Fun Facts are, he defended British soldiers after the Boston massacre, he was a great pen pal. He also was the first president to live in the white house. Sadly, He took part in one of the most crucial presidency campaigns. Weirdly, he blamed a day of fasting for his reelection defeat. He died on the same day as Thomas Jeferson did.

This section will be about who influenced him, why he went into politics, and what his 2 major accomplishments are. Joseph Marsh influenced John Adams. It all started when he was 14 years old and his father hired Joseph. He inspired him with his discipline and his determination, that helped John to emerge into books. Also, he was getting ready to send in admission exams for Harvard. John Adams went into politics because he got sick of Great Britian’s rule and thought it was unfair (which it was) and wanted to get freedom from their unfair rule. He was ignored by the British and that made him mad, so he decided to go against it. His accomplishments are he was the first vice president of the U.S. and the 2nd president but one of his greatest accomplishments is fighting in the war for independence. This section will be about what made it challenging to do his accomplishments, what his problem was and how he overcame it.

He had a tough time getting out of British rule and it was hard to fight in so many Battles and there was only a few hundred colonists and a lot of British soldiers. Also, the British soldiers were trained, and the colonist were not so this made it much harder. He had 2 problems, he did not get enough support on his reelection and the US started a rivalry with France, but he wanted to make peace. He overcame his 1st problem by losing the reelection and he overcame his 2nd problem by trying to make things better with France. This section will be about John’s first and second notable accomplishment.

His first notable act was he successfully defended British soldiers in the Boston massacre. He convinced the colonist that they deserved a fair trial, he succeeded with 6 acquitted and 2 receiving reduced sentences. Also, this is his most famous case because British soldiers fired at a Boston crowd on March 5, 1770. The effects then were 6 acquitted and 2 receiving reduced sentences, these were all British. The effects now are we won the case. His second notable act was he played a permanent role in Igniting in the American Revolution. He helped with the Stamp act and the Townshend acts. He carried out it by helping to make it happen. It is so important because it was colonial legal papers. The effect then was he helped in the BIG parts of the revolution. The effects then are the same as now.

This section will be about when he died, where he died, where he is buried, and what was interesting about his death. He died on July 4, 1826, in Quincy MA. He is buried at United first parish church. Something interesting is that he died on the same day as Thomas Jefferson, their deaths were only 5 hours apart. Brave, honorable, and determination are a few words to describe John Adams. This is the harsh and wonderful life of John Adams. He has done so many outstanding things for our country and without him who knows where we would be today, if he wouldn't have helped with the Boston massacre, if his father would have never hired Joseph Marsh, and if he wouldn't have been there to help fight the battles what might we have become today? Would we still be a free country? Or remain under Britian’s rule? Thanks to the honorable people who helped us become a free country to the soldiers like John and the brave women like Debbrah Samson who dressed as a man to fight for her country. He lived in a timeline that made a difference. He is remembered today as the 2nd president and the 1st vice president, and one of the many founding fathers of the US.
