My person John Hancock was one of the major characters in the American revolution. He was in the mid night ride of Paul Revere, and he was president of the second Continental Congress, last he was mayor of Massachusetts two times, and his past shaped who he was by his father dyeing when he was a young boy. John Hancock lived in the time period of the American Revolutionary war. I found my person John Hancock interesting to research because he was one of the major characters in the war, he used his wealth to help America win its freedom from Britain.

This is when and where my person John Hancock was born John Hancock was born on January 12, 1737, Braintree Massachusetts. One of the things that my person liked to do was play with his friend Samuel Adams. John Hancock’s dad died when he was 7 years old, so he lived with his uncle Thomas. His other family members were his mom Mary Hawke Perkins, his brothers/sisters were Mary Hancock Perkins and Ebenezer Hancock. When his father died, he lived with his uncle which was one of the richest merchants in Brittan. When he died, he gave his money to John Hancock which used it to help in the revolution. His education was he went to Harvard. One of the things that my person liked to do was play with his friend Samuel Adams.

This paragraph states how John Hancock was influenced to do all the amazing things he did. John Hancock was influenced by the Stamp Act because it cost his business a lot of money and forced him to be a smuggler. And made him a Patriot. And that is how John Hancock overcame his business problems with the Stamp Act.

This paragraph tells some obstacles John Hancock overcame. Some obstacles my person had to face was when his father died when he was 7 years old. This problem was solved by him living with his uncle, who was a wealthy merchant, which shaped his future. And when he didn’t get to be military leader. His problem was solved by him being the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence. Last the Stamp Act affected his business which fueled his anger with the British which caused him to smuggle goods into the colonies. And that is some obstacles my person had to face.

This paragraph says the Accomplishments of John Hancock. John Hancock was most known being the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence. It affected the world then by making other people sign it. It affects the world now by being the first and the biggest signature on it.

John Hancock also became the mayor of Massachusetts twice. It affects the world then by the people wanted him to be mayor and he overcame his enemies which thought he couldn't. And it affects us now by it is one of the reasons everyone remembers him. And that sums up the accomplishments of John Hancock.

This paragraph states when and where John Hancock died. John Hancock died on October 8, 1963, in Quincy Massachusetts. He was buried at Boston's Granary Graveyard. Something special about his death was that he died when he was mayor for the second time. And that is when and where John Hancock died.

Last some reasons my person John Hancock was important is he was the mayor of Massachusetts 2 times, he was president of the Second Continental Congress, next he was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence, and last, he has the biggest signature on the Declaration of Independence. And even though his father died he overcame it and did lots of good things. He was involved with politics. He did lots of things, but he is most remembered by people for his role in the American Revolutionary War. He is remembered from historical events like the midnight ride of Paul Revere, and the first/second continental congress. But the thing he is most remembered for is being the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence. So in this present day, when people ask for a signature, they will ask for your “John Hancock.”
