“The Streets of our Metropolis, crimsoned with the Blood of our fellow subjects." Samuel Adams. Samuel was around in colonial times and fought so hard to get freedom. The British had killed many colonists because they were protesting. This is the country Samuel Adams pays taxes for, is ruled by, gets unfair laws by, no say in Parliament's passed ideas, and now fights against. Would you live under this rule and fight back?

However, Adams had a very normal childhood. His family was able to do what they needed to do to help him be the best he could be. Samuel was born on September 27th, 1722, in Boston Massachusetts. He was born to Samuel Adams Sr. and Mary Fifield. He had two sisters who are Mary and Elizabeth Adams. Samuel Adams Sr. was a deacon, brewer, and political influencer. Samuel learned the basics of Math and Writing from his mom and eventually went to the school called, Boston Latin School. He attended the college of Harvard at age 14.

He got married to Elizabeth Checkley in the year 1747. He received a slave as a wedding gift, he let her be free, but she kept working for them. His wife sadly died in the year of 1757, and he married Elizabeth Wells. With his two wives, he had six kids but only two made it over eighteen. He would walk around the city of Boston telling people about how Great Britain was to keep them angered with the king and his group. His business failed, and it eventually went bankrupt. He worked hard to get back on the railroad tracks and ended up being very wealthy. Adam's childhood helped him with how he acted and what accomplishments he was able to do.

Although this is true, Samuel had friendships with John Adams, John Locke, Thomas Paine, Samuel Adams Sr. which influenced him the most. Samuel Adams was a patriot and a very well-known person in politics. He also went into politics because he replaced John Hancock who was gone as Massachusetts governor for a few days. Samuel enjoyed it which is why he ran for governor of Massachusetts. He won and could do two of the three things he liked, writing and politics. Another reason he went into politics was to help get colonies rights and because he was angry with King George III. He just wanted to help the cause to freedom. When he grew up, he was against slavery, and he was against it for the rest of his life. When he was at Harvard, he was heavily influenced by a philosopher named John Locke. Samuel Adams and John Adams are not actually brothers, they are cousins. They had the same thoughts against Britain which is why they seem remarkably similar. Being influenced by these things are why he loved to read, write, and be in politics.

Additionally, having so much hate against the crown country, he had conflicts with trying to get through Great Britain because he put his name to significant risk with them knowing who he was. He thought about how to figure it out. Then, he had an idea. He convinced many colonists, congress men, and patriots in the city of Boston to fight for freedom. He fought against a king who would declare treason on and kill him, but luckily, he was able to live 20 years after the Treaty of Paris. With all his help and determination, he was the Titanic that did not sink.

In addition, Adams had many notable accomplishments but here are some of the important ones. He signed the Declaration of Independence which is what helped us be the United States. He also helped create the Sons of Liberty and helped plan the Boston Tea Party. The Sons of Liberty was created in 1765. Adams became incredibly angry with the Stamp Act and planned protests and riots. When enough people joined and did this, they called themselves the Sons of Liberty. On December 16, 1773, the plan started. Throughout that week, the patriots wanted the shippers to take the tea back. They did not listen. So, Samuel Adams and members of the Sons of Liberty planned that they would dress up and get on the ships. They would dump the tea off the boat. The British then closed the harbor. He, and many patriots, helped defeat the British. Samuel helped the 13 colonies become the United States of America. His abilities were the reason he was able to achieve these amazing accomplishments.

Still, Samuel Adams had some health problems as he got older, when they became too much, he died on October 2, 1803, in Massachusetts. He was then buried at Granary Burying Ground in Boston Massachusetts. He got his own statue in Boston Massachusetts for his great affect in helping the 13 colonies.

Determined, fighter, and equality are some words to describe Adams. Adams helped us with the Boston Tea Party and helping influence some people in the Sons of Liberty. He fought for freedom and can be remembered by, going to his statue in Boston and looking at the Declaration of Independence because he signed it. He truly was an important part of early American history.
