In this lecture, we learned about Learning Management Systems (LMS) and pedagogical theories.LMS refers to Learning Management Systems, which help educators manage and organize the learning process.
First, we learned the difference between a cloud-based LMS and a self-hosted LMS. Cloud LMS includes commercial products such as Canvas, Google Classroom, etc., as well as free products such as Schoology, while self-hosted LMS includes open source products such as Moodle, Open edX, Sakai, and commercial products such as JoomLMS.
Next, we studied pedagogy, the art and science of education. We learned that pedagogy can be categorized into four pedagogical approaches: behaviorism, constructivism and social constructivism, emancipationism, and connectivism.
We then learned about several pedagogical models, including inquiry-based learning, experiential learning, cooperative learning, variation theory, and the flipped classroom. These models provide different pedagogical approaches and strategies that can be selected and applied according to different learning objectives and student needs.
Through this seminar, we have gained a deeper understanding of learning management systems and pedagogical theories. This knowledge is very useful for both educators and learners, and can help us better organize and implement teaching and learning activities to promote students' learning and development.
