Essential Beliefs are essential - must haves. In order to be a follower of Jesus, you must believe these things. Essential Beliefs are what we believe about God and Jesus and God's rescue plan for us.
Essential Beliefs About Salvation:
Salvation is a free gift to us. We cannot earn it by being good enough or doing enough good things.
We have to accept salvation.
When we choose to believe and trust in Jesus we can be forgiven of our sins and from the punishment of those sins.
When we choose to turn away from our sin and follow Jesus, we are saved.
The verses that tell us these beliefs are:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in his should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
