Jesus is the true and better David who is victorious

1 Samuel 17

IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU is a series of lessons remembering that the entire Bible is all about Jesus.

David defeated Goliath!  (1 Samuel 17)  What an amazing story of strength and courage.  But today we talked about someone even stronger and more courageous. Jesus defeated something bigger than a giant.

We can’t defeat sin and death – but Jesus can and did because he loves us.  Jesus did for us what we can’t do for ourselves.  He saved us!  He rescued us! 

Jesus is the true and better David whose victory becomes his people’s victory even though we didn’t do a thing to help in the victory.  It was all Jesus!
