Jesus often taught large crowds of people in parables to explain what his kingdom is like. The word parable may not be a word we use often…it is another way to say a story with meaning. He used these stories to help people understand that God’s kingdom isn’t like normal kingdoms of the world that belong to the strong and powerful…God’s kingdom is instead an upside-down kingdom that belongs to the gentle and merciful.
The parable that we are learning about is the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder found in Matthew 7:24-29.
Read the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builder in the Bible in Matthew 7:24-29.
Our foundation matters- what we build our life on is important. It might be easy to dig out sand and much more difficult to carve rock, BUT one will withstand storms and the other won’t.
What things make foolish foundations?
What steps can you take to help you follow (do) what you read in the bible?
Pray and ask God to help you develop a strong foundation in Jesus.
