Biography

Rankin was born in 1966 in a town in Scotland called Paisley. He is a known British photographer, director and publisher. He was married to a woman called Kate Hardie between 1995 - 1998. He is now with a woman called Tuuli Shipster from 2009 and onward. He went to Brighton Polytechnic Institution and studied accounting but he dropped out to study photography at the London College of Printing. He has photographed David Bowie, Jarvis Cocker, Ian Brown, Noel and Liam Gallagher, Damon Albarm and The Rolling Stones.Rankin was influenced by Bailey, Avedon, Eggleston, Teller, Knight, Newton, Blumenfeld, McCullin, Leibovitz and Penn.
