Photoshop portrait

Steve McCurry has captured the look of horror on a girls face. The light shines  onto her face covering one side and creating a triangle of light under her other eye. The use of the colour red on the green stand out making the picture more captivating and interesting to the views eye. The way he has captured the girls eyes tells a story of what she has been through creating a fantastic photo that will always be remembered and never forgotten for the feeling it creates. The way the light has been used into the girls face highlights the form and features. The way the girl is looking at the photographer shows the she knows/trusts him she doesn't look scared or threatened by his presence. The photo represents what people have had to go through during a war and the struggle that they face everyday. Her eyes have been exaggerated to be the main subject and interest people to look at the girl and think about what she has had to go through and if they could them self. The photograph makes you think about how well we have it and how peaceful our life is compered to others like the girl who have to live through hell every day.

Artist inspiration- Bert McLendon

The artist that i am interested in is Bert McLendon. He is known for his carton style pictures that look humerus and fun. They create a style that looks as if they have been drawn or animated. I am also intrigued in the artist Joe Cruz. He is known for his photos that look like they have been painted on with light, pastel colours.

Some of Bert's work

EBI: The eyes are to big. Next time i will make the eyes smaller and make the nose look small but not to small that it starts to morfe the face.

EBI: The photo has been changed too much that it looks nothing like a cartoon. It looks like something from a horror film.

WWW: I tried different ways to make her look cartoon by expanding her eyes and making them smaller. The composition of smaller and larger features make the image look cartoon like and funny.

EBI: Some of the images don't look cartoon like and are over done. Next time i will try to not over do them and make them look more like a cartoon and friendly.

EBI: The photo has been shrunk to much that it doesn't look cartoon like.

EBI: The photo doesn't have any aspects of cartoon or any resemblance of Berts work.

EBI: This photo doesn't look like it has been influenced by the cartoon style.

Before Photoshop:

EBI: Looks very similar to another photo.

EBI: The photo doesn't look cartoon like. I have changed the face to much that it doesn't look like it has been influenced by Berts work.

www: The photos look a lot more friendly and cartoon like. They look more natural and real. I have been able to use light to highlight different parts of the face.

EBI: Some of the faces look slimier or have similar traits to others. Next time i will try and make a larger difference between the photos so they dont look the same.
