Read: Colossians 3:12-13a, 15b-16a
"Come forth from them and be separate." (2 Corinthians 6:17a)
We live in a world that often promotes values contrary to God's ways. Everywhere we look, we encounter influences that can draw us away from God and toward sin. Yet, God did not create us to simply blend in with the world. He calls us to be holy. He calls us to be set apart for Him. As followers of Christ, we are invited to live differently because we belong to God.
1. God Calls Us to Holiness
"Be holy because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16)
God's desire for each one of us is holiness. He calls us to live lives that reflect His character in every aspect of our conduct.
2. Remember Who You Are
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation." (1 Peter 2:9)
Through Christ, we have become God's chosen people; a holy nation and a people set apart for Him. Our identity is no longer rooted in the world but in Christ.
3. We Are Temples of the Holy Spirit
"Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16)
God Himself dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. Because of this, we are called to honor God with our bodies, minds, and daily choices.
4. Holiness Is an Everyday Decision
"Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind." (Romans 12:2)
Holiness is not achieved instantly. It is a daily decision to reject sin, embrace God's will, and continually allow Him to transform us.
