Grace
The home is the smallest Church. It is the building block for the larger universal Church. From the family comes the next generation of Christians. In the home these generations are cared for, nurtured and formed in the faith. The condition of the larger society and of the world is dependent on the spiritual condition of the family and the home.
Our home is a very important and unique place. It is supposed to be a piece of Kingdom ground, under the dominion of God. It is where the love of God is manifest, on a day-to-day basis. It is the place where the Holy Spirit dwells. It is the training school for the generation of God’s people, preparing them to make a positive difference in the world. It is the mission base for God’s army. It is a light that shines in the neighborhood that is in darkness.
The enemy knows the great value of the family and the home. Thus he has bombarded the home through the culture of death. He has made the home a place of conflict rather than love. He has snuffed out the light of Christ in the home, and at times has made it even darker than its surroundings.
This is the situation we find ourselves in. But it cannot be a battle that is already lost, because Jesus has in fact already won the victory. And so, as we ourselves become renewed in the Spirit and continue to be transformed in Christ, we are to invest time and effort for home and family. We give time, we make the effort. God provides the rest, the much that is lacking in us.
