How happy are you with where we are now in our lives?
What are your worries?
Grace
There's a saying in the streets, “Malayo na pero malayo pa” or in a deeper christian perspective we say, “The life we have now was once a prayer”. God has always been faithful but with our many desires, we tend to overlook what He has already given us due to our preoccupation with our present dreams and needs. That is why it is always good to remember how good God has been in our lives. For us as married couples, remembering leads to gratitude. As couples we intentionally look back and remember how faithful God has been throughout our journey and we can begin to see our marriage not just as our story but as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, constant presence and grace.
Remember where God brought us from. Recall the desperate prayers, struggles and moments when God made a way when things seemed impossible. This will help us to recognize that our story is all the more a story of God’s goodness. Our marriage is not only sustained by our commitment and resolve but ultimately by God’s grace that sustains us. Through this we become more appreciative of the gift of our spouse and the journey we share. The ability to remember all of these helps develop a posture of gratitude that empowers the capacity to trust. When we remember as a couple God’s faithfulness in the past, we become more confident that the same God who carried us before will continue to walk with us through whatever lies ahead.
“Remember the wondrous works that He has done” - Psalm 105:5
