How to do the Liturgical Bible Study

Family LBS Guide

• Every month, pick at least one Sunday Reading you want to have during your LBS. 

• Make sure that the day of your LBS is before your chosen Sunday Schedule. 

• Gather the family and encourage everyone to use a Bible during the LBS. 

• Follow the process below: 

1. 1. Start with an opening prayer 

   2. Study the Gospel 

• Reading of the Text

• Understanding the Text (verse-by-verse exploration) Summary of the Text 

1. 3. Study the 1st Reading - Reading of the Text 

• Understanding the Text (verse-by-verse exploration) 

• Connecting the Gospel with the First Reading 

1. 4. Study the Second Reading 

• Reading of the text

• Understanding the Text (verse-by-verse exploration) Highlight themes

• Connect 2nd Reading to Gospel & 1st Reading 

1. 5. Form the One Thread Message (Hibla) 

   6. Form the Reflection Question (Hugot) 

   7. Form the Live the Word Challenge (Hamon) 

   8. Sharing (optional) 

   9. End with a Closing Prayer 

   10. Take a family picture with your Bible and post it online. Don’t forget to use the hashtags #MissionaryFamiliesofChrist #FamilyLBS
