Grace
Read: Colossians 3:12–14 (NABRE)
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.
Family life is a gift, but it can also be challenging. Our differences, busy schedules, and personal struggles can lead to broken relationships. Yet, God calls us as MFC families to reflect His love and remain strong in hope. Today we remind ourselves that hope and love can heal wounds, restore unity, and make our families living witnesses of Christ.
Be united as a Family
The Catechism teaches that “The Christian family is a communion of persons, a sign and image of the communion of the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit.” CCC 2205 Our MFC covenant commits us to build homes where compassion, humility, and forgiveness are daily choices, not just ideals. Strong families are not perfect; they are faithful. Let us remain faithful to our family and stay united as one no matter what.
Be Hopeful with your family members
St. John Paul II reminds us in Familiaris Consortio #18: “The family has the mission to guard, reveal and communicate love, and this is a living reflection of God’s love for humanity and of Christ’s love for the Church.”Even when conflicts arise or relationships feel distant, hope rooted in Christ transforms struggles into opportunities to grow closer as a family and to witness God’s power to heal.
Be Loving
Love is not merely an emotion. It is a daily decision that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Cor 13:7). Our covenant calls us to intentionally choose love, making it the foundation that brings our family together, even when it’s hard to forgive, listen, or sacrifice.
