July 2025 Chapter Teaching Topic
Expanded Outline
I. Intorduction
In a world marked by confusion, conflict, and hopelessness, Christ our Hope is the answer the human heart is searching for. People today are longing for peace, truth, and love, yet so often, they seek it in fleeting or false promises. Only in Jesus Christ do we find lasting hope, unconditional love, and the fullness of truth.
As members of Missionary Families of Christ, we are called not only to grow in personal holiness and family renewal but also to go forth and share the love of God with the world. This is part of our Covenant: “I will witness to the world of God’s love.” We bring Christ our Hope to the world. This call is not optional or reserved for a few; it is essential to who we are as Missionary Families of Christ.
II. The Mission to Make Christ Known, Guided by Our Charism
Our second Core Value is “Evangelistic and Missionary.” Our basic charism is evangelization founded on family renewal. Every MFC member is to be an evangelizer. Everyone can share Christ in his/her day-to-day circumstances of life. As to being a missionary, while that may imply going off on foreign mission, one can be a missionary just in one’s own local environment. Let’s look and reflect on our name.
1. Missionary
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19-20
People needs to know Christ. Evangelization begins with a missionary spirit that reaches out with the love of Christ. Missionaries work is our calling, sent to witness Christ in the world.
2. Families
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Families are under attack. As said by St. Teresa, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” The family is the "first school of evangelization" where faith is lived, nurtured, and transmitted. A renewed family becomes both the subject and object of mission.
3. Christ
“No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11
People need security. We can only find true security if we are founded on Christ. Christ is both the model and the power behind authentic renewal. Evangelization aims to bring families secured into deeper communion with Him.
III. Make Christ Known: MFC 12 Action Points
Here are the 12 Action Points from our Servant General. May these guide us as we seek to make Christ known through evangelization founded on family renewal.
1. Media Hype
Let’s evangelize through Social Media. Digital discipleship reaches more souls where they are. Let us use social media platforms to share Christ in creative and impactful ways.
2. Allow the Holy Spirit to Work
Evangelization bears fruit through spiritual empowerment, not just human effort. Remain open to the Spirit's leading in all we do.
3. Keep Learning
Continuous pastoral formation deepens faith and sharpens missionary effectiveness. Study Scripture, Church teachings, and MFC materials. Ongoing learning fuels growth in mission and holiness.
4. Encourage Volunteers
Get Involved, Raise and Build Up Brethren to Go on Mission. Evangelization is a shared task. Encourage others to serve, not just consume. Empowering others multiplies the mission's impact.
5. Music Should Be Catholic
Music in worship and gatherings should reflect Catholic theology and values. It must point to Christ, not just performance or emotion. Let us use our Sound the Trumpets Songbook as a resource.
6. Family Focus
Families are both the agents and fruits of evangelization. We should be missionaries of our own families. Strong families build a strong Church.
7. Core Values’ Importance
Emphasize and live out MFC's core values: being missionary, Catholic, community-oriented, and family-based. These values guide our vision and keep our mission aligned with our original charism.
8. Keep Talking
Let’s be prophetic and proclaim the truth online and offline. Let’s be courageous to share Christ.
9. New Moves, New Evangelization
Let’s continue our engagements through LCSC. Let’s embrace creative and new approaches to evangelization, while staying faithful to Catholic tradition.
10. Own the Name and Vision
Embrace the identity of being part of MFC. Live and share its mission intentionally. Let’s wear MFC shirts, put car stickers, banners at our homes. Identity drives purpose and witness. This may create opportunities evangelize.
11. Win the World
Take seriously the universal call to evangelize all nations and cultures. Every member is called to participate in the Church’s mission to the world.
12. Nearing 2031 and 2033
As MFC Community let’s prepare spiritually and missionally for two major jubilees:
2031: The 500th anniversary of Mary’s apparitions in Guadalupe
2033: The 2000th anniversary of Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection
These milestones are opportunities for renewed zeal and worldwide outreach.
IV. Conclusion
MFC is more than a name, it’s who we are and what we do. Let us boldly live out our covenant to be witnesses to the world of God’s love. As one MFC family, may we embrace our mission to evangelize. Make MFC known; ultimately, make Christ known.
