Business Development Manager

Clark Construction

Javid Aboutorabi serves as Business Development Manager for Clark Construction Group's Chicago office and Northern Region.  He has spent his full career with Clark, based in Chicago, and has established a wide network and familiarity within the local building construction market with clients, designers and subcontractors.  His primary responsibilities involve leading Clark's project opportunity identification, along with developing strategies towards pursuit planning and work acquisition.  Javid also leads Clark's Diversity Programs for the region, overseeing the development of MBE /WBE utilization and community participation plans to maximize subcontracting and workforce diversity.

In 2014, Javid launched the Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) in Chicago, which is Clark’s 8-month executive level training and mentoring program for small and diverse businesses.  The mission of SPP is to help subcontractors build capacity and succeed in today's competitive construction environment by providing them with key business management strategies and enhancing their fundamental skills and knowledge of project management.  As the Chicago program is set to commence its 10th season in the Fall, Clark has graduated over 200 small, diverse businesses locally, joining a network of over 1400 national SPP alumni.  In addition to leading the Chicago SPP, he was recently named as Clark’s National Director for SPP, overseeing the program across nine metropolitan areas throughout the country.

Javid is a graduate of Purdue University's School of Construction Engineering and Management and holds LEED AP accreditation.  He maintains active leadership and advisory roles with numerous community organizations, including the Chicago AGC, CTA’s DBE Advisory Committee, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, HIRE360, and a recipient of the Diversity Program Award at UIC’s annual Construction Summit.
