Dual Enrollment Pathways: Aligning Course-Taking with Career Goals

Chaffey College is introducing Dual Enrollment Pathways to adult school and high school students taking early college credit. These pathways are based on the program maps that currently exist for first-time college students at the college. These program-specific pathways were developed in collaboration with department faculty, with input from in-district K-12 partners and the Dual Enrollment Advisory Committee. The pathways provide students with first semester major and general education course recommendations. The goal is to align course selection and course-taking with the intent of strongly onboarding students to career paths.

An in depth explanation of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP)/ Not a military tool. The presentation will explain how to predict and identify A-G requirements in 10th -12th graders. A walk through will explain a student's academic strengths and weaknesses, identify a student’s top three interests strengths based on the Dr. John L. Holland model (RIASEC), and how the student can see the jobs nationwide that are specific to their current academic standing and interest. The presentation will go through college scholarship opportunities, college admission information, and a resume builder to assist students with a part time job.
