Share your top goal that you want to achieve as a couple.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
God assures us that He has plans for our prosperity. He looks forward to giving us a future full of hope. In our first few years of marriage, we share our dreams and ambitions with each other, aligning them towards couple goals.
We need to constantly discuss our personal plans with each other and how this will align to the family’s goals. We should agree on common goals for the different aspects of our lives (spiritual, personal/career, emotional and financial goals). Both husband and wife should be aware of what they need to do to achieve these goals and what support the other needs to work on their part of the goals.
Prepare a detailed plan for your short term (1 year), medium term (3-5 years) and long term (6-10 years) goals. The plans should be aligned to your family vision, it should be realistic and timebound. It should also include a list of major milestones and person in charge.
If you already have a plan, it might be good to review the plan to see if you are on track and adjust if needed.
Consecrate these plans to the Lord. Work tirelessly to achieve these dreams and pray unceasingly to Lord who plans to give you a good future.
Set aside time to review the goals on a regular basis.
