Choose from online activities or working through your learning workbook.
Assessment Expected Skills Check List:
ratio and proportion
integer and fractional powers applied to numbers
Continue working on the new Vocab section of your website.
Online Dictionary's might help
integer and fractional powers applied to numbers
We will create posters as a group, which you will photograph and upload onto your website.
Prepare for the assessment tomorrow.
Number Assessment e-asttle
We have the number paper test instead today, so these activities will be completed at home and tomorrow in class.
Conference Day: Work through Chapter 7: Algebraic Expressions starting on page 111. Spend one hour, then reflect on your website about how well you worked and what you learned. Use the instructions and answers in the back of the book when you get stuck. Mark your work. Most students will complete 3 pages, some will complete 6 or more pages. No Book? Try the year 10 sample algebra pages in google classroom. For the rest of term 1 we will be working in the learning workbooks so bring yours every lesson. If you do not have a learning workbook you will use a text book, so you will need a mathematics exercise book.
Transum links for homework:
Level 1 - Collecting like terms when 1 term is repeated
Level 2 - Collecting like terms when 2 terms are repeated
Level 3 - Multiplying a single positive integer over a bracket
Level 4 - Multiplying a single negative integer over a bracket
Level 5 - Multiplying a variable over a bracket
Level 6 - Expanding products of two simple binomials
Level 7 - Expanding products of two binomials
Level 8 - Squaring a binomial
Level 9 - Simplifying more complex expressions involving brackets
Level 10 - Expanding products of three binomials (cubic expressions)
For the rest of term 1 we will be working in the learning workbooks so bring yours every lesson. If you do not have a learning workbook you will use a text book, so you will need a mathematics exercise book.
Learning Workbook - 111, 112 & 113
For people who would rather carry on digitally you can do these:
Level 1 - Factorising an expression with a constant factor. Example: 40h + 88
Level 2 - Factorising an expression with a variable factor. Example: 23h + 3h²
Level 3 - Factorising an expression with both a constant and variable factor. Example: 10a + 2ab
Level 4 - Writing an expression of two parts that can be separately factorised. Example: 3a + ab + 5w + 4wy
Level 5 - Writing an expression as the product of two binomials. Example: 5a + 5b + ac + bc
For the rest of term 1 we will be working in the learning workbooks so bring yours every lesson. If you do not have a learning workbook you will use a text book, so you will need a mathematics exercise book.
Learning Workbook - 114, 115 & 116
For people who would rather carry on digitally you can do these:
Level 6 - Factorising an expression which is the difference between two squares. Example: c² - 81
Level 7 - Factorising a quadratic where the squared term coefficient is 1. Example: c² - 13c + 36
Level 8 - Factorising a quadratic where the squared term coefficient is not 1. Example: 4a² + 5a - 6
Level 9 - Mixed factorisation questions Example: b² + 6b + 9
For the rest of term 1 we will be working in the learning workbooks so bring yours every lesson. If you do not have a learning workbook you will use a text book, so you will need a mathematics exercise book.
