Visa appointment date may be up to six months before the visa start date
In March 2024 the consulate requested further information about a second home.
The applicant had only provided the title deeds.
The consulate requested copies of the tax foncieres and tax d'habitation.
The current situation
This is the first time that we have been made aware of the Consulate requesting further proof of ownership.
The France-Visas website does not specify what documentation is needed
A trawl of Facebook posts indicate that most people provide a range of supporting information demonstrating ownership of their second home
The suggested way forward is to provide as many of the following documents as possible but if you don't have one of them don't worry too much:
A copy of the Attestation of ownership
A copy of the tax fonciere from the previous year
A copy of the tax d'habitiation from the previous year
A copy of one or more utility bills ( but not every utility!)
Any copy of any correspondence from your Marie that indicates you have a second home
