The custodian of this website has monitored Facebook pages related to second home owners in France. They have the following observations
The French authorities were relaxed about Douane matters during Covid.
As of December 2022 the Douane appear to have continued this relaxed approach however there is always the risk that they will be enforced on the day you travel!
We have no information on how Dutch; Belgium and Spanish customs officer apply the generic EU rules.
The original Douane section of this website was written in early 2021. We do not have the resources to maintain these page so they may be out of date.
