Log XIV

    I just got back from burying my sister. It's hard to see someone like that. To have to say goodbye for the final time knowing they can't hear you. Wishing you had just one more moment with them, one last chance to say that you love them. It was difficult to see her go down the hole, and into the ground. I had to be there, though. I had to see her sent off properly. It was the right thing to do.

    It was bittersweet when I got back. I learned that Everest was not actually there when the news was broken to me. He was off doing paperwork in bunks. Some entity was mimicking him, but it wasn't one of THE mimics. Regardless, he pulled me aside about an hour later after the situation was handled along with Reaper and Hades. I was promoted to Sergeant Major. It was like I said, bittersweet. I didn't even register what was going on at first, they made me sift through paperwork. I pulled file after file out, sorting through various documents until I found a Sergeant Major patch. It didn't even register to me that it was for me, I had assumed it was Everest's old one. They had to explain that I was being promoted. I'm glad it happened, I just... can't seem to get excited about it right now.

    This one is short. I need some time alone with my thoughts.
