Log V
Chaos erupted in Site today. I was doing a patrol of EZ, bodyguarding Druid like I usually do when portals began to spawn all over the zone. These black crystals covered the floor, and I almost tripped over one and ate shit. All of the Site was called into EZ shortly after. Nu-7. NTF. GenSec. Xi-8. Anyone with a gun was brought over. We didn’t know what to do, we couldn’t make heads or tails of the situation. We were advised to be ready for a battle, so I went to restock my shotgun. All the Heavies placed shields around EZ while us Vanguards stuck with ‘V’, Druid and the other higher ups. It was while I was reloading my shotgun that utter pandemonium broke out.
Three knights spawned from the portals, each one towering over everybody in the Site. They had to be at least ten feet tall, with a myriad of giant swords attached to their backs. They held similarly sized swords in their hands, their armour ebony black. At first, they stood there, as if to examine us. Determine whether we were a threat. ‘V’ approached them, assuring that we were not of any harm. That did no good though, as they quickly began to attack us. It was utter chaos, their armour like diamond. Our bullets did next to nothing against the might of these creatures, and we stuck to circling all of EZ and looping them around the edges while we (very) slowly whittled down their armour. With each plate that fell, there seemed to be a mass of glowing energy that lay underneath. I vaguely remember NTF busting out five different Reality Anchors, each one drawing power away from the entities. It took a solid ten minutes, but we managed to knock most of the armour off one. It was at this point that more knights began to pour from the portals, but these looked different. They had no swords on their backs, but still one in hand. They seemed to be on our side, helping us fend off the entities and push them back into a corner. Together, we took them down one by one. We were relieved, but these friendly knights told us to come with them. They opened another portal, and we all poured inside. We found ourselves in a realm unfamiliar to me. It was dark, so very dark. A little village off in the distance surrounded by a sort of castle gate. We were told to stock up on ammo, health, and armour. We were to be in for the fight of a lifetime. They certainly were not wrong.
Eventually, the footsteps of an oncoming horde began to shake the very realm we stood in. Giant monsters that vaguely reminded me of Titans from AoT began to storm the gate. We held them off as best we could but they seemed to only be the infantry. Giant scorpions and spiders began to crawl from the earth, taking out a couple men in the process. By some miracle, we managed to fend them all off. The knights fighting by our side were shrinking in size though, as if the strain of the battle was wearing on their power. Then the most terrifying this of the entire battle showed up. A gigantic worm, almost like out of Dune shot from the ground and knocked down the front gate with a single swing of its body. We fought hard, pouring volley after volley of lead into the beast while ‘V’ fought against what I can only assume to be the leader of the enemy knights just in the centre of the village. Fortune smiled upon us, as we were able to slay the giant worm, and as its massive body crashed into the ground, we saw our Site Director plunge his blade into the chest of the enemy leader. It was a victory to remember. The knights we fought alongside thanked us for our assistance but told us that they would call upon us again should they see the need. This made me worry a little. These guys were forces to be reckoned with. The fact that they might need our help had me incredibly worried about what was after them. Regardless, we all returned home. I never thought that this new Site would have so much going on, but as long as I’m alive, I will continue to fight for it. This place… oddly feels like a new beginning for me. A do-over, if you will. I’m looking forward to what’s in store.
