Meet the 5th Grade Class President!

By Lauren Scelfo

Not long ago, we had the H.B.W. elections for each student council position. In this article, I interviewed the winner of 5th grade class president, Molly Walsh.

(Q) How did you feel coming into the race against 17 other candidates?

(A) It was very stressful! Running against 17 other candidates also made me realize how many wonderful students there are at HBW! Any of those other candidates would have made an awesome president as well!

(Q) Why did you decide to run for 5th grade class president?

(A) I decided to run because I want to be someone who can help the school and I thought I was the best person to do that.

(Q) What are your goals for this position?

(A) Especially at this time I want to help raise school spirit, and make this a good year for the students at H.B.W.

(Q) What are some things that the student council wants to do?

(A) We still want to make all fundraisers happen, but this year we will have to do them virtually. For example, we want to have some sort of hot chocolate day.

(Q) What is your favorite part so far about being on the council?

(A) My favorite part is that I can share my thoughts to make the school a better place.
