VHS ATHLETIC PROBATION - Academic Improvement Plan
Any student-athlete with an “F” is automatically subject to the VHS Academic Improvement Plan called “Athletic Probation” for the 2025-26 school year. Each week, grade checks will be initiated on Monday morning. If a student-athlete has an “F,” he/she will be immediately enrolled in Athletic Probation beginning Monday at lunch. They will be given an athletic probation pass during 4th period to use for the entire week. During Athletic Probation, the student-athlete WILL be eligible to participate in all practices and athletic games/events as long as they adhere to the guidelines/terms listed below for Athletic Probation:
Students will eat lunch in the cafeteria and must report to a designated location by 12:30.
Students are to use this time to work on homework/missing assignments.
No cell phones/headphones allowed.
If the student-athlete raises their grade to a passing level by the end of the week, their Athletic Probation period is over.
If the student still has an “F” grade after week 1 of probation, they will be subject to an additional 1-week Athletic Probation. If, after 2 weeks, the student/athlete still has an “F,” he/she will be immediately ineligible for competition and will remain in study hall until the grade is improved to a passing grade.
If a student-athlete is present in school and misses study hall, they are immediately ineligible for the next game/event. If they are absent, they will be required to make up study hall either at Falcon Focus or study hall the next week.
If the student-athlete is a repeat offender and consistently on the “F” list, they will be subject to stricter penalties from the Athletic Director and VHS school administration.
