"Accurate assessment of student achievement is essential in ensuring academic growth for all students. Vallivue School District No. 139 utilizes state and district-developed assessment tools to ensure that a full range of assessment data is available for parents and school personnel. These data are used in determining placement, participation in extension and remediation programs, and communication of progress as measured against Idaho Core Standards and district curricula. Students are required to participate in State and local assessments."

What is an ASB Card?
An Associated Student Body (ASB) Card is $40.00. It allows free entrance to regular home sporting events and a discounted rate for sporting events not held at Vallivue High School; however, they are not applicable during district and state tournaments.
Who is required to purchase an ASB Card?
All students participating in sports, drama, band, choir, debate, or yearbook must purchase an ASB Card. However, we do encourage all students to purchase an ASB Card.
Do we offer season passes for sporting events?
Yes. The form is on our website under the Activities/Athletics tab. Please note that Vallivue High School season passes are not valid for away games, jamborees, district, and state tournaments.
How do I release my student from school?
Please call the attendance line (208) 454-9255 at least one hour before you need your student released. Whereas we do not disturb the educational process by calling into the classroom, we need time to have a note delivered to the classroom. Calls to release students can be made as early as 7:30 a.m. but will not be accepted after 2:30 p.m.
How many days of school can my student miss?
Regular attendance is an expectation at Vallivue High School. We strictly adhere to Vallivue School District policy 501.2 and Idaho Education Law 08.02.02.105, which states that students must have no less than 60 hours of seat time for each class to earn one credit. Students who reach at least seven absences in one or more of the following codes: unexcused or excused absence, unexcused or excused absent late (=>10 minutes after class begins), prearranged absence or truancy will receive a warning letter and begin dialoguing with their administrator. We build our semesters so students can miss 10 days without penalty; however, we recommend students are in class.
Does Vallivue have a dress code?
Yes. Our Dress For Success guidelines can be found in the student handbook. Please review and follow. Students who do not follow the guidelines will be asked to change; however, parents will be called if there is a second (or additional) violation(s).
How does my student know if they have "A" or "B" lunch?
Student lunch time is determined by their fourth-hour class. Typically, students with a fourth-hour class downstairs will have "A" lunch right after their third-hour class (11:20 am). Students with a fourth-hour class upstairs or PE typically have "B" lunch right after their fourth-hour class (12:20 pm). This "rule" has exceptions, so students are encouraged to check with their third-hour teacher on the first day of school.
Please note we do not change class schedules to accommodate a different lunch.
Does Vallivue High School accept student deliveries?
Vallivue High School does not accept student deliveries. This includes food, Chromebooks, sporting equipment, homework, flowers, and other items that are not listed. In addition, no food can be delivered through any delivery service (i.e., Door Dash, Uber Eats, or any other delivery service).
Is Vallivue High School an open or closed campus?
Vallivue High School is a closed campus per policy #502. Students cannot leave campus, sit in vehicles, or visit parking lots during the school day. In addition, no food can be delivered through any delivery service (e.g., Door Dash, Uber Eats, or any other delivery service).
How does a student make an appointment with their school counselor?
Students can make an appointment with their counselor anytime by filling out a request form (on the computer) in the counseling suite.
Is there an attendance requirement for athletic participation?
School Attendance Participants must maintain regular attendance and must be in attendance for a full day on each day of practice or competition to participate that day, unless there are extenuating circumstances approved by the principal or designee (such as assistant principal).
If a student feels that his or her rights have been violated by either school personnel, parent or another student, he or she should initiate an appeal with the guidance counselor. The guidance counselor will evaluate the appeal and advise the student on what steps would be taken or aid the student in contacting the proper authorities.

Factors that enrich the school/home relationship:
1. That attendance be regular and punctual.
2. That a student absent from school should not expect a valid excuse to absolve him from the responsibility of making up the work missed.
3. That extra help in a subject, beyond what can be given during the class hour without robbing the group of the teacher's time, should be on the initiative of the student as well as the teacher.
4. That parental concerns be first registered with the classroom teacher so as to provide the school an opportunity to make adjustments as resources will permit.
Factors needing cooperation of parents and school:
1. A demanding class schedule and participation in too many activities to the detriment of the class work are factors which demand constant attention.
2. Both the school and the home should watch the progress of the student on regular grading reports.
3. The parent and the school both want the student to learn to get along with others, assume his/her own responsibilities and develop self-discipline. It should be the common purpose of both parents and school to adjust any attending strain to the development of the student without weakening him/her by absolving him/her of the responsibility for his/her actions.
4. If a boy or girl becomes significantly unhappy in school, the matter should be reported to the counselor by his/her parents.
Inquiries regarding compliance with this policy may be directed to the Title IX Coordinator for Employment on matters concerning employment or contact the Title IX Coordinator for Student Admissions and Programs on matters concerning students or programs. Inquiries may also be directed to the District Superintendent of Schools.
