"Under the Hands of a Great Teacher,
All Professions were Born!"
To be a teacher in the Philippines is a challenging profession. It's not just being able to embody personal and professional qualities, but also maintaining a good image and role model to students before, during, and after the teaching-learning cycle. This is why teachers are the most respected profession not just in our country but all around the world. It has been the case that teachers are banners of hope and heroes of students. Students are guided and facilitated to grow and develop during their time at school with the help of the teachers. Teachers bring out the best out of every learner and kicks that motivation in every student to be who they want to be in the future. They can be a pilot, a doctor, an engineer, a nurse etc. and the teacher respects and guides the student every step of the way for the students to achieve their desired goals. Hence, under the hands of a great teacher, all professions were born.
It has been signed and satisfied that students spend most of their time at school and their teachers are marked as the one who stands as their second parent. Whatever actions and development made by the students at school the teacher takes on the role of an active caring parent whose always there to support and encourage students!
Teachers are then marked as the second parents of the students whom they share most of their time and experience. As a student preparing to be a teacher, I dedicate myself to this idea and knowledge, that whatever I do, as a parent-teacher, the students' success should be my end goal and not the other way around of it. This is a good start up because, at the very begging I start to understand my purpose and roles when at front and when at the shadows of my future students.
I come across this video about Mr. Thompson and her Student- Teddy. It's a very inspiring story between a student and a teacher. It has then urged me to pursue even harder to be not just a teacher but a loving and caring one: feel free to watch the video uploaded by Mary Reynolds.
