Relation with community
The student teacher knows the diverse social contexts that condition teaching and school management and establishes relationships with colleagues, parents, families and other members and institutions of the community to support the learning and well-being of all of the students.
As part of the competency 9, I present documents that demonstrate the act of community work in different social contexts. These experiences condition teaching and social management, establishing relationships between parents, families and other members and institutions of the community to support children's learning.
Student Assemblies
The UPR Elementary School does student assemblies every month. In these activities two grades must present what they have been studying in their classes. It is considered a space for sharing ideas, discussing new projects with colleagues, interaction between the students and active learning. I participated in most of the assemblies and interacted with the school community.

Workshop about integration of technology in the classroom given by me and two colleagues. It as given to the UPR Elementary School professors.
Puerto Rican Week
During this week, the students and teachers prepared different activities to honor our Puerto Rican culture. I accompanied my students while they rehearsed their dance for the Puerto Rican Night Event, I created a special project based on cultures around the world, while discussing and comparing them to ours and was a part of the breakfast activity with my two groups and their parents.
I felt really united to my groups while interacting in these activities, and was able to meet many of my students'parents.
Roadtrip Esperanza 5.0
Roadtrip Esperanza is a massive community labor done by the UPR Río Piedras students since 2015. This event is coordinated by 5-11 Public Relations, a student organization that I am actively a part of. This year we impacted many communities, within them, the educational center (After school program) where I work as an English Instructor, Niños de Nueva Esperanza. With my team, we visited the center and provided a dramatic play workshop to several of the students and children from the community. The students really enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Labor comunitaria (Click on the link!)- Various community work activities are presented, several with children or that positively impact children of different communities. These were made in collaboration with 5-11 Public Relations.
Community service is important because it puts us in contact with the community and therefore with our students. This leads us to know the needs of the students and their families, consequently creating a better education for the students since it adapts to what they need.
