Evaluation
The student teacher selects, develops, adapts, integrates and uses techniques and instruments to collect valid information from each student's learning and analyzes, interprets, communicates and uses the information collected in an ethical manner when evaluating and making fair decisions regarding learning and continuous development of each student and, to qualify the learning, as well as to reflect on their educational practice and how to improve it.
As part of the competency 8, I present documents that demonstrate knowledge about the creation of assessment instruments, the practice of ethics, and the development of appropriate techniques for the subject and students. This knowledge leads to the correct evaluation of the students and, therefore, better education.
Tests
Assessments
The task of assessing is used to determine what the students know and what they need to know, it will also give you a hint on what is the best way of teaching that student. A pre assessment determines what they already know from prior experience, while a post- assessment informs us what the students has learned in the process.
As part of the UPR elementary School fourth grade English class, I did various pre-assessments and post assessments.
All of these were interactive, activated prior knowledge and would provide me with a clear idea of what the student knew or had learned throughout the unit.
Accommodations
Students have diverse learning styles and needs. Due to this, when evaluating or assessing, it is important to address these needs. Tests can be given orally for better comprehension, projects can be done in groups for support, The student can be given more time to finish tests, and/or any other accommodation provided by the Special Education Program.
Examen (Homophones) (Click on the link!)-
The following is a test created for fourth grade in the English area. The topic developed in this test was: The homophones and the integration of them with the story "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume. The exercise to create the hypothetical exam prepares the teachers in formation for the real elaboration of an evaluation that confirms or demonstrates the knowledge or capacities by means of exercises or questions, related to what will be measured.

This exercise consists in performing an informal interview, which is an appraisal of language skills through a conversation.
