The Bontoc (Bontok, Bontoc Igorot, Igorot, Guianes) are found in the Mountain Province of the Cordillera mountain ranges in the upper Chico river region. They are more densely located in the municipalities of Bontoc (18,080), Sadanga (7,245), and Barlig (5,640). Within the group, five subgroupings are usually recognized by social scientists namely: (1) Central, (2) Talubin, (3) Barlig, (4) Lias, and (5) Kadaklan, based on dialectal differences.
Gaddang Shirts contain a combination of frieze patterns all over the front, back and even at its sleeves. At a closer look, a pattern of diamond-like motifs can be seen which has a horizontal and vertical reflective symmetry. At its center, the axes meet 180° rotation. It has the symmetry group mm.
The thinner strips have reflective symmetry in which the axes are placed half the translation length. Its symmetry group is m1.
