In the northern part of Luzon, indigenous people are known for their perseverance as they were the ones who constructed the rice terraces. This also built their identity for leading the country in its agricultural aspect. But despite these, they still continued to embrace their art in weaving and a number of ethnic groups still practice this in their communities. Among these groups are the Bontoc, Gaddang, Iloko, Kalinga,Tingguian, and Ibaloy.
