Assistant Professor (International)

Dr. Christie Sio earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of the Philippines - Diliman. Focused on contributing to the field of reliable psychological measurement, her expertise lies in the development and construction of psychometric tests. Dr. Sio's research extends into the realm of Experience Sampling Methodology (ESM), where she explores real-time experiences and behaviors. Her specific interest lies in affect dynamics, emotion experiences, and personality, with a focused emphasis on understanding the nuanced experience of anger emotions across diverse real-world contexts.

In addition to her work in psychometrics and ESM, Dr. Sio delves into social psychology, investigating social dominance and social identity theories. Her research explores the dynamics of intergroup relations and how social identity, along with social dominance orientation, collectively shapes individual behavior within these contexts.

Further expanding her focus, Dr. Sio examines individual differences in social and political attitudes. Her research underscores various within-person factors influencing these attitudes, with a particular emphasis on personality traits that underlie voting behavior.
