To facilitate the growth of Philippine Psychology, Mendoza & Sio (2018) called for the use of experience sampling methodology (ESM) to explore day-to-day experiences of Filipinos. This approach enhances ecological validity by collecting real-time data as individuals engage in their everyday lives. Despite significant advantages, mobile ESM (mESM) remains underutilized among Filipino psychologists.
SagotKita is an integrated ESM (Experience Sampling Method) based application developed to serve the UP Diliman community in research and counseling services. ESM is a way of collecting data through repeated assessments, providing personal insights in an individual’s natural environment. The web application allows survey builders such as clinicians and researchers to create customized surveys that participants can answer. They can control the frequency at which surveys can be answered on different time intervals within specified time periods. They can also view participants’ responses and download copies of their data for comprehensive analysis. The mobile application allows patients and participants to answer multiple surveys and track their progress. It sends notifications multiple times a day to remind participants to complete surveys, capturing their experiences in natural settings. SagotKita bridges technology and mental health assessment through its web and mobile platforms by providing a simple way to manage and access psychological services.
