Students explore Fauvism to develop a painted personal still life composition. Through research and art making, this unit engages the idea that art should express the inner state of an artist. They will learn about art movements such as Fauvism to consider how the 'wild beasts' harnessed colour to present every day subjects.
Research and experimentation will be a spring board for inspiring these artworks. Throughout these tasks, students follow the creative process via research, ideation, designing and skill development, as well as reflecting and discussing artistic intentions.
