(ONLY FOR EXTRA-UE CANDIDATES - DEADLINE 30 JUNE 2023)
The next step consists of the Pre-enrollment made through the Universitaly site. In order to do it, candidates must have received their pre-acceptance letter.
Universitaly is a platform which shortens the distance between University and Embassies/Consulates for the Visa request: candidates aiming to get a Visa for studying in Italy must submit their pre-enrollment on Universitaly website, which directly addresses the documents to the university (in our case, to Foreign Students Office of Sapienza). Click here to open the Universitaly website!
Candidates have to fill in the registration form, clicking on the upper right section "Why and how to register".
To make sure sure your application is not rejected, please update all the documents currently in your possession before hitting "submit".
As you can see, in order to submit the application, candidates must also provide a Declaration of Value (DoV), or possibly the Statements of Comparability and Verification issued by CIMEA.
The DoV is directly provided by the Embassies for free, while the Statements of CIMEA are a paid service; however, not all the Embassies provide the DoV (and if they provide it, the process can take a long time), so usually the best option is to ask for the Statements of CIMEA, which is always provided within one month from the request date. When you apply for the statements, please, also submit to CIMEA your High School Diploma certificate. By doing so, you will obtain an evaluation on your complete study career.

The Diploma Supplement can replace the Statement of Comparability or the Declaration of equal value (DoV) related to the University degree if it gives all information needed for the evaluation of the title. Official translation into Italian language is not necessary, but its legalization (or Apostille) is mandatory.
After submitting the pre-enrollment application, candidates must wait for the approval (the so-called "Pre-enrollment summary") before asking for a Visa to their home countries' Embassy or Consulate. Anyway, after the validation it is forwarded to the Embassy/Consulate too.
The deadline for submitting the Universitaly pre-enrollment is set for 30 June 2023, and the issuance of the "Pre-enrollment summary" is usually made between May and July.
For further questions about "Universitaly" website, please contact the email address accesso.sapienza@uniroma1.it, managed by Foreign Students Secretariat and Hello office of Sapienza.
Extra-Ue candidates aiming to enroll in our master's degree, necessarily need a Visa type D issued by an Italian Embassy or a Consulate located in their native country.
Visa must be requested online after receiving the "pre-enrollment summary", if possible between June and August, in order to be able to reach Rome by the beginning of the classes. We strongly suggest to apply as soon as possible because in some countries the available seats for each Country are limited.
Candidates must contact the Embassy/Consulate they selected on the Universitaly pre-enrollment application, in order to verify the procedures to schedule the interview appointment and to have information on additional documents needed.
