Dr Alessia Franchini

I am currently working on the interaction of massive black hole binaries with their circumbinary material using SPH hydrodynamical simulations. The aims of this part of the B Massive project are to understand how the evolution of massive black hole binaries is influenced by the gaseous environment at sub-pc scales and to improve models that describe the gravitational wave background signal for PTA data analysis.

My interests also extend to tidal disruption events, planet dynamics and Be star/X-ray binaries.
