Yogyakarta, July 30-31, 2024 - In order to enhance the competency of human resources, particularly university lecturers and researchers in the fields of research and community service based on Intellectual Property (IP) systems, specifically patents, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, through the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service, in collaboration with AKPRIND University Indonesia, has conducted the Intellectual Property Potential Excellence Assistance Program (Uber-KI) 2024. The event was held at Tara Hotel Yogyakarta on July 30-31, 2024.
Based on the selection results, Dr. Sulhatun, S.T., M.T., a Chemical Engineering lecturer from Universitas Malikussaleh, attended as one of the selected participants. Dr. Sulhatun's participation in this event is expected to bring significant benefits for developing competencies and abilities in managing and advancing Intellectual Property-based research at Universitas Malikussaleh.
The event began at 08:00 WIB and was attended by selected lecturers and researchers from various universities in Indonesia. Over the course of two days, participants received intensive assistance in drafting and developing patent application documents. This activity aimed to provide a deep understanding of the importance of patents in the world of research and community service.
The event organizers provided accommodation and meals during the event, with travel expenses covered by the participants' respective institutions. Each participant was required to bring an initial draft of their patent application document according to the provided template.
In addition to the in-person assistance, the event was also conducted online to offer a wider opportunity for participants who could not attend in person. This event is expected to enhance the competencies of lecturers and researchers in developing research that has the potential to become intellectual property, as well as to positively impact the development of science and technology in Indonesia.
