UNIMALNEWS | Lhokseumawe - Chemical Engineering Students of Malikussaleh University Successfully Secure Funding for the 2024 Student Creativity Program (PKM) in the Exact Research Field Organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Friday (12/7/2024).
The students involved in the PKM team are Muhammad Zikri Maulana from the 2021 Chemical Engineering Program, Rizki Rianda from the 2022 Chemical Engineering Program, Muhammad Ishak Idrus Panjaitan from the 2021 Chemical Engineering Program, Meutia Kurniawan from the 2022 Chemical Engineering Program, and Muhammad Yahdi Salim from the 2022 Chemical Engineering Program.
Muhammad Ishak Idrus Panjaitan stated that the research title that was successfully funded is "Adsorption of Rhodamine B from Industrial Waste Using Bottom Ash Adsorbent from Palm Oil Mill Boiler Combustion: A Fixed-Bed Column Approach." This research aims to address pollution caused by Rhodamine B waste by utilizing the potential of Bottom Ash waste. Through this innovation, it is expected to make a significant contribution in the field of waste treatment and provide benefits for industry practitioners and the general public for the sustainability of environmental preservation.
This PKM funding provides an opportunity for students to develop creative and innovative ideas that can be applied in various sectors. This year, out of thousands of proposals submitted, the team from Malikussaleh University successfully passed and received funding, which is an outstanding achievement.
"We are very grateful and proud to have secured PKM 2024 funding. This is the result of hard work and solid collaboration among team members. We hope this research can have a positive and beneficial impact on society," said Muhammad Ishak.
Muhammad Yahdi Salim added that after receiving the funding, the team will immediately begin the research phase according to the submitted plan. "We are committed to completing this research with maximum results. We hope this research can make a real contribution," he added.
Meriatna MT, Secretary of the Chemical Engineering Department, expressed full support for the PKM team. "We are very proud of this achievement.
