The Herschel and Cornelia Everett Foundation First-Year Graduate Fellowship was established in 2001 by the Everett family trust to support graduate education and foster growth at UNC Charlotte.

Award:
~ Doctoral student: First year: $25,000 stipend plus in-state tuition for NC residents (does not include fees); non-resident tuition if a SC resident (if required) and health insurance offered through the GASP program. Second- fifth year - In-state tuition (not including fees), non-resident tuition, (if required) and health insurance offered through the GASP program. The department is expected to offer a qualifying graduate assistantship in the academic program. Note: 9 hours with an assistantship is considered full-time enrollment and is required.
~ Master’s student: First year: $14,000 stipend plus in-state tuition for a NC resident (not including fees). non-resident tuition if a SC resident (if required). 2nd year: Department must provide a qualifying graduate assistantship or fellowship in the academic program; In-state tuition (not including fees). South Carolina residents are eligible for out-of-state tuition. Note: 6 hours with an assistantship is considered full-time enrollment and is required.
Award requires nomination by the Graduate Program Director
Newly admitted to a doctoral program for summer or fall 2025
Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0-4.0.
Preference will be given to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
Preference to North Carolina or South Carolina residents.
Must be enrolled full-time.
